On May 22, a celebratory reception was held to honor SJUSD’s twenty retiring employees, including eleven individuals who have worked for the district for over twenty years.

On May 22, SJHS hosted Scholarship Night celebrating over $1M in scholarships and honoring the class of 2024’s Top 40 students who were presented with red cords to wear at graduation and who are featured in banners lining Ramona Blvd. and San Jacinto Ave.

Regular school attendance has obvious academic benefits and earned 1,500 SJUSD students a trip to Knotts!

Congratulations to the SJUSD seniors who were honored during the Hemet/San Jacinto Student of the Year Scholarship Award Dinner on May 16. Winners include: Leslye Osuna, San Jacinto High School Student of the Year and Desiree Hernandez, Mtn. View High School Student of the Year.

Seniors at MVHS and MHA were celebrated at an Awards and Scholarship Night on May 14.

On May 10, De Anza Elementary students, staff and guests, many wearing purple, gathered for a Relay for Life parade led by 12 cancer survivors. Students were challenged to fight back and become the scientist that finds the ever elusive cure. Go Team De Anza!

On May 8, MVMS and NMMS Special Ed students competed in a United PE volleyball game which involved hitting beach balls over the net while music played. The laughter and smiles on both sides of the net indicated that the competition was a success for all!

Family, staff and classmates gathered to celebrate and support two early graduate SJLA cadets at a College Signing Day event on May 2.

Dr. Valdovinos-Bhatia received a unanimous vote to assume leadership of San Jacinto Elementary.

District Employees of the Year were honored at an Excellence in Education Awards Reception on May 14. During the event, commendations about each honoree were read and each received a commemorative glass trophy. Congratulations and thank you for caring for our students!

The SJ Education Foundation hosted its annual Recognition Reception on May 7 and honored students winners of the Stephen Talley Art Enrichment Program and scholarship recipients as well as many SJUSD employees. We are grateful for their partnership and support of our students!

The SJUSD Department of Equity and Access and the SJ African American Advisory Council hosted the 3rd annual Black Excellence Awards on May 6 to honor African American graduating seniors and promoting eighth graders with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Congratulations!!

A Multilingual Learners Awards Program on May 3 honored CA State Seal of Biliteracy and Riverside County Seal of Multiliteracy award recipients and 264 students that met Reclassification Criteria.
