Across California, the CHKS has led to a better understanding of the relationship between students’ health behaviors and academic performance, and is frequently cited by state policymakers and the media as a critical component of school improvement efforts to help guide the development of more effective health, prevention, and youth development programs. San Jacinto Unified School District is committed to ensuring that we support the whole child and identify barriers to learning. Through the end of March 2019, students in grades 5, 7, 9, and 11 will be given an opportunity to take the California Healthy Kids Survey -- taking the survey is voluntary. The results of this survey are used to create prevention and intervention activities. The surveys for Elementary (Grade 5) and Secondary (Grades 7, 9, and 11) are presented here:
