The program begins June 11, Mondays through Thursdays and ends July 23, 2019. However, no meals will be served on Thursday, July 4, 2019 due to the national holiday.
“Our staff has been distributing flyers about this amazing program all around the community,” said Tammy White, SJUSD’s Nutrition Services Director. “We think it is important to offer both breakfast and lunch over the summer, not only in locations where we hold summer school, but also at other schools or residential areas with large children populations,” noted White.
The district’s website and marquee sign on San Jacinto Avenue share the times and locations for the meal service and invite any child 18 years old and younger, regardless of home address, to visit any of the meal service locations:
